Itinerary

Day 1 - Victoria Falls ( 14th Jun 2020 )

Border Information: If joining the trip in Victoria Falls, you will most likely enter Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls Airport (IATA code: VFA).

There will be a group meeting at 10:00am at the Victoria Falls Rest Camp. Your leader will leave a note on the reception with the details of this important meeting - when you arrive you will easily spot the truck as well (to the right-hand-side of the reception), where you'll be able to meet one of our crew.

This afternoon we will have an included visit to the main viewpoints over the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls.

Please note that many of the options listed below will only be possible for those with extra time in Victoria Falls before the start of your trip with us - please contact the Sales team if you would like to book pre-tour accommodation with us to have extra time exploring Victoria Falls.

In Victoria Falls we will camp in a well equipped campsite. Our camping ground is centrally located on the Zambezi River only four kilometres from the Falls, the perfect place to use as a base for the vast array of adventure activities on offer in the area. Please note that no meals are included in Victoria Falls.

Day 2 - Gweru ( 15th Jun 2020 )

Today we are driving across to Gweru. We will camp at the beautiful Jabulani campsite, renound for it's eco-friendly approach and exciting activities.

Day 3 - Masvingo ( 16th Jun 2020 )

This morning we will head to Masvingo. There we will have a guided tour around the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. This UNESCO World Heritage site is an amazing example of Bantu history and is one of best examples of ancient Zimbabwean architecture.

Day 4 - Moribane Forest Reserve ( 17th Jun 2020 )

Today we will leave Zimbabwe and cross into Mozambique. After we have made the crossing we will head deep into the Moribane Forest to camp for the night. We may even catch sight of some rare Bush Elephants on the trails around camp.

Day 5-7 - Vilankulo ( 18th Jun 2020 to 20th Jun 2020 )

This morning we will drive to the East coast town of Vilankulos. Here we will spend 3 nights exploring the world famous Bazaruto Archipelago. We will have an included boat trip out to the islands on our first full day followed by a sunset Dhow trip the day after. There may also be some time for whale watching as well as many other water activities.

Head out for half a day looking for whales in the pristine waters of Bazaruto.

Day 8-9 - Tofo ( 21st Jun 2020 to 22nd Jun 2020 )

Today we head to Tofo via Inhambane. We will stop off in town to visit some local markets and excellent restaurants before making our way to Tofo Beach.

The next day we have many optional activities to choose from, the highlight being viewing the whale sharks and manta rays that often frequent the area.

Day 10 - Maputo ( 23rd Jun 2020 )

This morning we are driving across to Mozambiques capital city, Maputo. We will have some time to explore the city in the afternoon and to sample some of the best restaurants in the evening.

Day 11 - Shewula ( 24th Jun 2020 )

This morning we are crossing into Swaziland. Our first stop in the country will be in Shewula where we will experience true Swazi hospitality at a community run camp. There is the opportunity to get involved with many community run projects that directly benefit the local people.

Day 12-13 - Mlilwane Nature Reserve, Malolotja National Park ( 25th Jun 2020 to 26th Jun 2020 )

Over the next two days we will continue to explore Swaziland. We will be camping in two different spots in a national park and a nature reserve. Over these two days we will have plenty of time to particiapte in all sorts of optional activities such as horseback safaris, mountain biking and canopy tours.

Spend an hour riding amongst the game on this horse safari through the National Park.

Day 14-17 - Limpopo National Park, Kruger National Park ( 27th Jun 2020 to 30th Jun 2020 )

Today we will be met by our fleet of 6-person 4x4 jeeps - we will load the jeeps with our camping and personal gear, and then head out for our 3 day excursion into Limpopo and Kruger National Parks, leaving our truck behind. We will head to South Africa then back into Mozambique, you will require a multiple entry visa to Mozambique for this reason.

We will also be leaving our large bags behind (where they will be stored in a secure location), and advise you to bring along a smaller daypack for your personal gear for this trip that will need to be packed soon after the group meeting before we set off. You should pack clothing for 4 days (including a warm jumper or fleece and long trousers), a waterproof jacket, toiletries (including sun screen and insect repellent), your camera and charger, a small towel, a head torch, a water bottle, books and personal snacks, etc.

At the end of this excursion we will be re-united with our truck as we re-enter Zimbabwe.

Day 18 - Bulawayo ( 1st Jul 2020 )

Today we have a long drive day to the city of Bulawayo.

In Bulawayo we will stay in a campground with shared facilities, where some upgrades are available.

Day 19 - Matobo National Park ( 2nd Jul 2020 )

Today we will have an included day trip to explore the Matobo National Park, home to a large population of black and white rhinoceros. We have an incredible safari to track them on foot, and also have the chance to visit the grave of Cecil Rhodes and learn all about Zimbabwe's past.

Day 20 - Hwange National Park ( 3rd Jul 2020 )

After breakfast we head towards Hwange National Park, stopping en route to visit the Painted Dog Conservation Group for an insight into the plight of the African Wild Dog. We will take an included afternoon game drive in local safari trucks through Hwange National Park.

In Hwange National Park we will camp inside the park at their campsite near the entrance gates.

Day 21 - Victoria Falls ( 4th Jul 2020 )

This morning we will head out on an early morning game drive within Hwange National Park. After our Game Drive in Hwange we head back to Victoria Falls.

Day 22 - Victoria Falls ( 5th Jul 2020 )

Border Information: If leaving the trip in Victoria Falls, you will likely depart Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls International Airport (IATA code: VFA).

Today is the end day for passengers finishing their trip in Victoria Falls. Please note there is no accommodation included on the trip tonight - please contact the Sales Team if you are interested in booking extra nights of accommodation in order to fully explore and take part in some of the optional activities listed below.
