Foreign Travel Advice

This great African safari takes you from the mountains, forests and plains of East Africa to the wildlife parks and deserts of the south. Along the way you will experience at very close quarters Africa's most spectacular wildlife and visit some of its finest national parks, such as the Serengeti, Masai Mara in the east and Chobe and Etosha in the south.

You will meet mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda and elephants, lions, cheetahs and more in Tanzania and Kenya and again in Botswana and in Namibia. However, it's the raw experience of walking safaris to find white rhino in Zimbabwe and canoeing down Zambian rivers in the Lower Zambezi region that get you right up close to Africa's flora and fauna.

It's a wonderful journey through so much of interest and we take it slowly allowing time, to really allow the continent to get under your skin. Although, the area has a great infrastructure for tourism, we will also get you away from the tourist trail and genuinely off the beaten track.

Marvel at the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls
Take advantage of many optional activities at Victoria Falls
Boat trip to spot wildlife in Chobe NP
Jeep safari in Hwange NP
Guided walking safari in search of White rhino in Matobo NP
Learn the colonial history of Southern Africa at the grave of Cecil Rhodes
Search for meerkats at the Makgadikgadi Pans
2 days wilderness safari in Okavango delta
Spot wildlife among the reeds and lillies from a canoe in the Okavango
Visit to the San Bushmen Village project near Grootfontein

Although this is a long trip, the infrastructure in terms of roads, camp sites and hotels is extremely good and so life is generally pretty easy. This is made easier by having a cook on board to help with cooking and camp duties.

Take in the jaw-dropping vistas at the Fish River Canyon

Visit the famous Dune 45 and explore the other-wordly landscapes of the Sossusvlei and the Dead Vlei salt pans

Visit the seal colony at Cape Cross

Spend time exploring the area around Spitzkoppe (nicknamed the Matterhorn of Africa), a granite peak rising 1728 metres above sea level

Overland safari through Etosha National Park with excellent wildlife
