At Dragoman, we believe strongly that we should try to give something back to the communities in the countries we travel through. We are involved in a wide range of community-based tourism projects around the world, and we're really proud of what they manage to achieve in what are often challenging circumstances. There is always more that can be done, but through our involvement in these projects, we try to ensure that local people directly benefit from our group's visits.

Sagrada Familia: Colombia

Sagrada Familia is a non-profit corporation founded in 1959 that supports children aged between 2 and 5 years old who come from the lowest social layers of the city of Manizales.

The corporation holds two kindergartens, named Semillitas de Pez, where these children receive education, but also receive a balanced diet and psychological support through the nutritionist and psychologist who are present in these kindergartens.

Our involvement

We visit the Sagrada Familia centre whilst staing in Manizales on our trips between Cartagena and Quito (or vice versa), where we see a presentation on the charity, the history, the people they work with and why, before visiting the school and seeing the work they do first hand.

Please see here for our trips between Cartagena and Quito.
