Dragoman partners with Torres del Paine Legacy Fund

Travelling through the world’s most spectacular landscapes, we know we have a responsibility to help ensure they stay that way. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Torres del Paine Legacy Fund in South America, a non-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring a sustainable future for Torres del Paine and its surrounding communities.

Launched in 2014 in response to challenges posed by rapidly increasing visitation to this iconic yet fragile landscape, the Legacy Fund works with businesses, municipalities, park authorities, residents, and visitors to:

  • Restore and protect ecosystems
  • Improve tourism infrastructure and mitigate visitor impacts
  • Promote community development
  • Diversify recreation & cultural opportunities for residents and visitors

The Torres del Paine National Park is considered by many to be the 8th wonder of the world, and is visited by over 260,000 travellers each year. Unfortunately, such intensive footfall places a significant strain on the national environment, resulting in deteriorated trails and habitat encroachment.

Our overlanding trips in Patagonia are some of our most popular, so we’re delighted to have the opportunity to support the Torres del Paine Legacy Fund in their work. Our partnership comes into effect on 1st January 2019, and three of our trucks will be visiting the Lenga Tree Nursery between now and March 2019.
