If you already have an annual travel or credit card policy, please check carefully with your insurers to ensure they provide the cover you require, as many limit cover for trekking above certain altitude, riding without a hard hat, rafting above grade 3 etc.
We recommend that any policy has the following minimum levels of cover:
- Medical Expenses (including repatriation) £5,000,000
- Personal Liability £2,000,000
- Cancellation and Curtailment £3,000
- Cover for loss of baggage, personal effects, money and other items is down to personal choice.
It is extremely important that you check the full extent of your cover
related to 24 hour Medical Emergency Assistance. In the event of you
needing medical
treatment you want to know that you have the best cover available to
you.
On the first day of your trip your leader will ask to see your insurance
policy, to check its validity and emergency telephone numbers. Failure
to do show a valid
insurance policy will mean exclusion from the trip. Please ensure you
have your policy number and emergency telephone number for your insurance
company. We recommend
you carry your insurance policy document with you on your trip. If this
is unavailable please ensure you have the necessary information required
by your Insurance company
in case of an emergency.
Family policies can also be arranged and our insurance partners have
special premiums where children travel at substantially reduced rates.
