E-mail Print

Our Small Group Adventure Holidays are all about variety. Different places, different cultures and loads of different activities to choose from; you’ll be amazed at all the unforgettable experiences on offer, even on the shortest trip. These tours are all about going local, travelling on everything from trains to tuk-tuks and staying in locally owned guesthouses and hotels or hostels.

These trips offer the freedom and flexibility of independent travel and a group of like-minded people to share it with. From home-stays to market visits and lessons in local cookery, there's a new experience every day, with many activities included.

family_and_friends31Small groups

The usual group size about 12 with the average number being about 10.  The small group size allows us to assimilate really easily with the local people as we don’t overshadow local communities; we mix in with no trouble be it in a market, cultural site or train station.

Real life experiences & local interaction

These trips endeavour to create real life experiences, where you see life as it is, maybe during a homestay or while wandering through a local market. You will not be cocooned with tourist infrastructure.  The local people will be a major focus on these holidays.

family_and_friends30The style & comfort levels to suit you

These trips are not just for the budget conscious but suit all those seeking adventure.  Our trips range from very comfortable (adventure by day, comfort by night) and non challenging trips to pretty basic and the physical challenging adventures.  Please look at the Physical challenge and comfort zone to see whether the trip will suit you.

Local transport

On these trips we use a mixture of local transport, (overnight sleeper trains, buses, taxis, etc.) and privately hired minibuses.  The transport very much depends on the style and level of comfort of the trip that you have chosen.  For instance on our more comfortable trips you will find that  there is a predominance of privately hire vehicles, whereas on a more basic trip you will be mostly in local vehicles.

family_and_friends32Experienced Tour Leaders

On these trips, our tour leaders often come from the local communities that you will be travelling through and so have a high level of local knowledge. However we also use westerners, especially where trips may be passing through from one country to another.! All have a passion for travelling and sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with our groups.

family_and_friends27Accommodation that adds to the experience

Where you stay is part of the adventure and so we choose your nights stay with care; it might be a homestay with a Mongol family, an old Indian palace, a Moroccan rhiad or a small travellers lodge in the Himalayas.

Food that adds flavour

Local food is as much part of the travel experience as the places you go and so these trips are designed to give you as much possibility of trying out the local cuisine as possible.  Whether you are eating group meals included in the meal plan or out and about on your own, eating will form a memorable experience on these holidays.

Active Adventures

These holidays are active, whether it si strolling through the back streets and markets of Asia, trekking across the roof of the world in Nepal or cycling around the west bank of the Nile at Luxor.  Our travellers are active in mind and body and want more than just lying on a beach.
