Adventure holiday in Mexico could make for honeymoon with a difference
Couples looking for an exciting holiday together or a honeymoon with a difference could embark on an adventure travel tour of Mexico.
According to the Central American country's tourist body, it offers everything anyone could ever want in a destination.
Mexico Tourism Board romance director Carmen Laborin explained that the nation is one of the most romantic in the world and benefits from being incredibly versatile.
"You will find it all in Mexico - culture, entertainment, adventure, ecotourism, sun and beaches, and of course - luxury travel, perfectly tailored for romantic jetsetters," she said.
"Whether you are looking to bask in the sun or explore the Mayan sites, there will never be shortage of activity and romance in Mexico. Mexico is by nature a romantic country, songs are better if in a serenade, music is better when danced by a partner, food is most enjoyable if shared - nothing in Mexico is done without love in the equation."
The expert added that visitors to the country find themselves in awe of the freedom, colours and customs of the locals and most love the Mexican way of life.
In reference to the recent World Travel Market 2011 Industry Report, which highlighted Mexico as one of the new emerging tourism destinations, Ms Laborin noted that tour operators, airlines, resorts and cruise lines are investing in the country, meaning a better range of opportunities are open to those visiting.
Those looking for a real Central and South American adventure could book an overland tour from Mexico City to Rio de Janeiro, which would give them the chance to explore some of the continent's most amazing countries, including Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Peru, and El Salvador, among others.
Along the way, intrepid travellers can try their hand at snorkelling, horse-riding, canoeing, river caving, mountain biking and a host of other exciting activities.
