Is it a Yurt or is it a Ger?

yurt or ger?

The only real way to find out is to join us on our amazing trip from St Petersburg to Beijing this April.
This 11 week journey takes you through Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China allowing you to experience the changing culture and scenery of these magnificent countries. It is not a trip for the faint hearted as we travel to unchartered and remote regions with plenty of wild camping and interaction with the local people.

Hutsons in India

Maddie

Our family trips go from strength to strength and we have some fantastic holidays still available this year. We are also developing some new trips and will be sending a bulletin with full details next week or keep an eye on the website.

One of our new trips last year was the India Family adventure and this was a great success. Here are a few excerpts from Ellen - aged 12 - from the October departure

' We arrived in Delhi, the capital, got into our taxis and made our way to the first hotel. It was like a different world. Sacred cows roamed the dirty streets, most of them living on plastic bags and rubbish. The taxi ride was an experience! There didn't seem to be any rules on the roads and there was so much traffic, all beeping their horns all the time.'

Spring into Action

Vic Falls

With all this glorious weather it feels like spring is just around the corner so why not get out there and have some fun.
We still have spaces left on our Zanzibar and Zambezi Zigzag departing Vic Falls on the 31st March. It's a 22 night adventure with a lovely mix of action activities, wildlife and relaxation with the last 3 nights on the idyllic island of Zanzibar.

If you want to spoil yourself or someone else then please go to for full details

Reports from the road

Priscilla Queen of the Desert

On one of our recent trips in West Africa Dragoman came to the rescue of an intrepid family who were literally sinking in the River Niger.
'I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to Dragoman Tours for the exceptional kindness that the West African tour leaders, Emma and Maiga, showed to my family and myself when they witnessed the swamping of our boat on the River Niger on Jan. 29, 2008. The Dragoman crew took us in, gave us warm clothes, a tent, food and a place in their boat back to Mopti even though it meant a very late arrival for all.'

AND

Here is a great shot of one of our groups enjoying themselves in the Sudanese desert. Remember ladies, it's always worth packing the Madonna bra - just in case!

The Travel Shows

It was great to see so many of you at the recent Travel Shows and thank you for coming over to say hello. The prize draw will take place next week so please remember to check your emails in case you are one of our lucky winners.
If not please don't despair as there is still time to enter as we will be at Destination Birmingham and the One Life Show at Olympia, London from the 29th Feb- 2nd March.

We hope to see you there and for details of tickets click here...

Kariandusi School Trust

Kariandusi School

And finally we know that some of you have been very worried about the Kariandusi schools in light of recent events taking place in the Rift Valley of Kenya. This fantastic charity is supported by Dragoman and many of you will have visited the schools and met the children on your trips.
If you have time please go to Kariandusi website for a detailed update from Harry V-C and for details of the crisis appeal. An incredible 5000GBP has been received recently which is overwhelming in it's generosity.

Thank you.
