Far from the Madding Crowd in North East Africa

Meeting the tribes of Ethiopia

Every man and his dog runs trips from Nairobi to Capetown, so do we.The reason? Cos there are so many amazing places to visit. But how many other overland companies explore the regions north of Nairobi? Not many. But we think it's worth making the effort to explore this unique area.

Dragoman Overland have been travelling through these lesser known regions of Sudan and Ethiopia for more that 25 years, longer then anyone else. This is real overlanding- bushcamps in the middle of nowhere, shopping in local markets, rough roads, amazing scenery. If you are looking for something a bit different and fancy a challenge this winter, then check out the following trip.

Mauritania? Where the hell is that? Get 20% off to find out.

The beach run- 65kms of sand

Elvis lives!

From September onwards, turn your head skywards. See those birds flying south for the winter? They definately have the right idea. If you fancy some winter sun, forget the Canary islands. Come with us to Mauritania, a desert country 3 times the size of France, with a population of just 3 million and only 800 kms of paved road.

95% of the land is unpopulated, with rolling sandunes, huge craggy mountains and the second biggest monolith after Ayres Rock. If you want some real adventure, hop on board our specially adapted 4WD truck for a 2 week desert exploration of this amazing and little known country. Although its only around £475 (including kitty) for 2 weeks, the Costa del Sol it ain't.

Check out this video of the trip.
