For many travellers, the legendary cities of Bukhara and Samarkand are iconic, the ‘ultimate destination’ in Silk Route adventure. In just over a month, you’ll experience a huge range of cultures and landscapes, overlanding from the cosmopolitan city of Istanbul, traditionally a bridge between Europe and Asia, through Turkey and the mountains of Georgia, across Azerbaijan and into Turkmenistan, where you’ll traverse the Karakum Desert before ending in one of Central Asia’s best – known countries, Uzbekistan. En route, you’ll explore the mysterious landscape of Cappadocia, visit Georgia, home to the enchanting old town of Tbilisi, picturesque vineyards, and remote mountain villages, cross the Caspian Sea and visit an underground lake before ending in the cities of Bukhara and Samarkand – a fitting end to this magnificent journey.
