27 days between Khartoum and Cairo or vice versa...

This is a journey of stark contrasts from the well-known highlights of Egypt to the much lesser known and visited cultural icons like the Meroe Pyramids. Starting in Egypt’s capital, you will journey to the stunning coastal city of Alexandria before heading out into the wilds of the western desert, overlanding from oasis to oasis and camping out under the stars. In Luxor you’ll encounter the full glories of Ancient Egypt at Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings. From Aswan you’ll cross Lake Nasser and enter Sudan, experiencing incredible hospitality in small villages en route that rarely see outsiders. Travel in Sudan is challenging, but hugely rewarding. With deserted temples, imposing pyramids, and frequently impassable roads, this is a real adventure! Southbound trips will experience some of the best reefs in the world with a stop at the Red Sea for swimming and snorkelling whilst northbound trips will spend time in the beautiful Siwa oasis.
