This family adventure holiday combines the culture of ancient India with the country's wildlife, birdlife and stunning scenery. Family travel must also be about fun, so we have added heaps of activities - riding camels out in the Rajasthan Desert and tiger spotting in Ranthambore National Park, going on rickshaw tours and elephant rides. Overland travel really comes into its own by getting you off the beaten track, and there'll be plenty of chances to meet local people and their families, exploring small villages as well as the towns and cities. Going overland is a brilliant way for a family to enjoy the vibrancy and colours of India.

Nights 1-3: Delhi & Rajasthan Desert

Nights 6-8: Indian Wildlife

• 2 night stay and tiger/wildlife jeep safari at Ranthambore NP
• Guided rickshaw trip in the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary

Nights 9-10: Agra & Surrounds

• 2 night stay in the historic city of Agra
• Discover the hidden secrets of Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar's ancient capital
• Rickshaw trip and guided tour of the Taj and Red Fort

Final Day: Return to Delhi

• Final group meal at traditional restaurant in Delhi

General Notes:

Price Notes: There is no kitty or local payment. On our family trips we have no kitty or local payments because there is nothing worse than travelling around with wads of cash while trying to supervise the kids. From personal experience we know that families need to relax and forget about the hassle of money for a while. Pay upfront and bring only what you need for the extras.

Child's Price: There is a 10% discount off the trip price. Children must be aged 6 or above. Teenagers from 16 - 18 will be charged adult price. Children must be accompanied by 1 or more adults.

Hotels:
Delhi: Central city three star type hotel (air conditioning, etc).
Mandawa: Desert Resort, a purpose built village of mud brick cottages with local painted walls set in the desert or beautifully restored local Haveli.
Jaipur: small Maharaja Palace in central Jaipur.
Bharatpur: small local hotel near the bird sanctuary or campsite.
Agra: 2 star air-conditioned tourist hotel with pool.
Ramthanbore Nat. Park, small cottage style rurual resort.l.

Hotel accommodation is based on twin and/or triple sharing. At the time of booking please indicate your family's room requirements. If we do not hear from you we will book rooms we consider suitable.
