Day 1 Nairobi

• The frenetic streets of Nairobi offer an exhilarating introduction to modern African life.

Day 2 Tengeru Homestay

• Learn about the life of the Meru as privileged guests at a family homestay. Perhaps explore the nearby markets, learn about Tanzanian coffee production or get to know the family's farm. Make friends and learn first-hand about life on the land.

Day 3 Lake Manyara National Park

• Cross the spectacular Great Rift Valley floor to Mto Wa Mbu to explore the town's colourful markets. Haggle for handicrafts then continue to Lake Manyara, known for its unique tree-climbing lions and thriving hippo population.

Days 4-5 Serengeti National Park

• Enter the Serengeti, home to large herds of zebras and wildebeest and sleek iconic predators. Spot as many animals as possible on a game drive, then fall asleep amid the calls of nocturnal birds. At dawn, an optional balloon ride over the park offers a chance to watch the animals of the African savannah from above.

Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater Rim

• Visit the fascinating Olduvai Gorge, once home to man's ancestors, before driving to the crater rim to set up camp. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a huge animal population so keep an eye out for the Big Five and more.

Day 7 Mto Wa Mbu

• Get among the action on a half-day game drive along the Ngorongoro Crater’s floor. Keep cameras ready for sightings of everything from wildebeest to elephants. Afterwards, return to Mto Wa Mbu for the night.

Day 8 Nairobi

• Return to vibrant Nairobi, where the adventure sadly comes to an end.
