Africa is unfathomably vast, home to some legendary wildlife destinations: the Masai Mara, the Okavango, Luangwa. You could find yourself following chimpanzees through the forests of Uganda, watching elephants cross the Chobe River at sunset or hear the chilling roar of lions in the darkness as you sit round the campfire in the Serengeti. Overlanding takes you to places you’ve only ever dreamed of. There are amazing natural wonders to explore, such as Victoria Falls, Mt Kilimanjaro or the Skeleton Coast. Lose yourself in Zanzibar’s timeless streets, trek through Ethiopia’s dramatic Simien Mountains, or take a river cruise to Timbuktu. Africa is more than just spectacular scenery, however. Whether you’re watching the Whirling Dervishes of Omdurman or tracking game with the Bushmen in Namibia, chatting to a voodoo priest in a python temple in Benin or listening to the hypnotic rhythms of Tuareg musicians at the Festival of the Desert, it’s the many faces of Africa that make this continent so incredible to travel through.
