Cover is essential
You must have extensive travel insurance as a condition of booking with us, and without evidence of a valid policy you won’t be allowed to start your trip.
Whichever policy you choose, you must ensure it’s suitable for adventure/overland travel, covering activities such as white water rafting, trekking and horse-riding.
You should also ensure you have 24-hour emergency assistance and that the company is experienced in handling situations in any developing countries you’re visiting, and have the ability to arrange repatriation from remote areas like the Sahara or if you’re trekking in the Andes.
This is particularly important if you already hold annual travel or credit card policies, as many of these are not able to cope with adventure travel to remote areas (or may be due to expire before your trip departure date).
We also recommend that any policy has the following minimum levels of cover:
- Medical (including repatriation): £2,000,000
- Personal liability: £1,000,000
- Cancellation and curtailment: £3,000
- Loss of baggage, personal effects, money and other inclusions: down to personal choice
Insurance for European travellers
We can arrange insurance for travellers resident anywhere in Europe other than Switzerland, Belarus, Montenegro and the Ukraine; people from these countries or elsewhere will need to arrange their own insurance locally.
Our policy differs from many others because it covers any activity when booked or arranged through us, and is priced competitively from £28. Call us on +44(0)1728 861133 for a quote or to arrange cover.
