This month's must-see: Nadaam, Mongolia

It's Mongolia's biggest event and attracts thousands of locals to this wild and magnificent' country's capital, Ulaanbaatar, each July

Nadaam, or 'Manly Games' as it translates, is a three day sporting event, an Olympics if you like, where the nation's finest athletes compete against each other in horse-racing, wrestling, archery and anklebone shooting.  It's not just sporting prowess that's on show here, though, but Mongolia's traditional culture. Farmers, herders and townspeople gather in the capital to sing, dance and show off their colourful dress.
