Passionate about travel, always up for adventure, it takes someone special to be a Dragoman leader. Our Overland trips are run by two western leaders who will ensure your trip is both enjoyable and safe.

Your leader will provide practical information about the places you are travelling through and offer suggestions for things to do and see. Whilst not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a general knowledge of the places you visit. It's good to keep in mind that they have an overland truck to drive and maintain as well.

Our trip leaders undergo the most intensive and extensive training programme in the industry, spending 2-3 months learning the ropes at our UK headquarters, then up to 6 months as a trainee our on the road. Once they’ve completed that, we’re confident they should be ready for anything!

In addition to your leaders and to ensure you get the best in local knowledge we also employ local guides at particular sights of interest and along the way. In South and East Africa, you’ll be joined by a local camp-master who will co-ordinate all of the cooking for your group. In Central Asia we use local guides in each country we travel through, to give us a unique insight into their history and culture and to help us with the local language.  Similarly in South America, our crew are joined by local experts along the way, helping to bring the rich history of region to life.
