Food and dietary requirements
Groups on overland trips divide into smaller cook groups who cook for everyone on a rota basis.
If you have an allergy or intolerance this can cause some problems in this respect. At times you may be required to prepare your own meals separately to cater for your needs. If you’re a vegetarian and don’t wish to handle meat you will need to be in a group where others are happy to do this.
In East and Southern Africa there’s a campmaster in charge of the cooking and the group will help with preparation and shopping etc.
Tell us about any dietary requirements
Please advise us of any dietary requirements and any allergies when you book (you can do this in the ‘medical conditions’ box if you’re booking online).
Generally there’s always a vegetarian option on your trips.
Allergies or intolerances
We will try to cater for any specific allergies or intolerances but in the countries that we travel it is not always possible to source alternative foodstuffs. If you have a specific allergy or intolerance, you must be aware that some establishments will not be able to cater for your needs. Equally when eating from the truck alternative foodstuffs may be particularly expensive or unavailable and it will be up to you to source suitable foodstuffs. If you are concerned that suitable foodstuffs may not be available en-route, please bring these along with you.
